Xbox’s Elder Scrolls Skyrim is the enormously bold and beautiful addition to the Elder Scrolls Saga that you have been waiting for. It is guaranteed to enthrall you for endless hours. Players take up arms against the ever-growing dragon threat. Your encounters with them will leave you amazed, so long as you stay on the main quest line, which can be very hard to do because of the massive amount of additional content in the game. Players can use weapons, magic or a combination of both in the quest to save the realm. Combining slashes from your sword with a steady stream of flames can be both beautiful and deadly.

Skyrim is an enormous fantasy RPG (Role Playing Game) which will undoubtedly consume hundreds of hours of your time. The story not only pits you against dragons, but it will have you doing everything from crashing high class parties , searching dungeons for artifacts or even joining a guild and advancing to the position of leader. Even when you aren’t pursuing the main quest line there are countless things for you to do. In your journey, you may come across a settlement being attacked by a dragon and come to their rescue, or finding a town plagued by a serial killer and taking the investigation into your own hands. The options are limitless, with more than 400 hours of gameplay. There are so many places to explore, whether it is a dungeon packed with undead minions, or a forest flourishing with wildlife, and you can never know what to expect. It is this element of the unexpected that draws you in, whether it is for a powerful weapon locked away deep in the catacombs of an abandoned fort, or a breathtaking view from a mountain peak. In Skyrim you play as the Dragonborn, a mortal with the soul of a dragon, able to absorb the souls of other dragons that you slay. As the Dragonborn, you can learn the language of the dragons which gives you the ability to use “shouts”, which are powerful magic spells known only by the dragons.

Although the game is amazing beyond compare, it is not without error. There are a number of technical glitches that can prove to be very frustrating, such as having the game freeze while loading, or certain quests not activating on time. However, that is a small price to pay for a game as epic as The Elder Scrolls Skyrim. This is definitely a game worth buying, with an extremely high replay value.
